P24 - Once AroundLife does not end.
The World does not
end.
Things spin,
at their barest,

and this is enough.

Though the lighthouses
of our souls
may crumble,
falling into an ocean
of indiscriminate darkness
the world carries on.

Though the fires
of one thousand hells,
the judgments
of one thousand heavens,
the gazes
of one thousand teachers
and the end of all we know
may engulf us,
the world carries on.

Because it spins.
It turns,
slowly,
carelessly,
through this black void,
falling between stars and dust,
dancing its eternal dance
across all heavens,
through all hells
and kissing the very universe
in which it is.

And as I wa

we return.
P22 - 2014As I walk this valley
of broken houses and torn streets,
a crumbling world;
the veins of the city bare and spilled,
as I walk this valley.

These creatures,
they watch.
Always,
always watching,
always waiting.
At home, outside,
as I wake and as I live
elsewhere;
always watching.

To what end?
To what end do we work
under these
things?
Under these creatures;
from above,
or from beyond?

Compassion?
Love?
Friendship or pity?
Do they not feel?
But they are not of our kind.
They do not breathe.
They do not live.
They are not
human.

But still they stand,
still,
on every corner,
in every hallway,
eyes watching,
limb
P21 - GamesI do not lie on ledges,
I do not lie on balconies;
balconies nor vehicles,
tables nor televisions.

I lie instead on the shattered,
broken remnants
of an age passed.
And they shift as I shift;
the bits and pieces,
and pieces of bits
of what I knew.

And things are leaving;
there are no more bricks
with which to make my wall.
No more planks
with which to make my roof.
He told me that nothing
is ever truly barren.
I'm not sure.

And so I lie on the floor of the world,
and look up at the fading sunlight,
as it it cries its dying cry
through some faraway window.
And I roll over,
take a breath,
and turn
into the night.
